The Elyria Hockey Club has set its tryout dates for the 2018-19 season, and based on feedback provided by its membership we will only hold tryout sessions in the spring of 2018. The benefits of holding only one tryout is placement will be known prior to spring hockey activities, which allows individual teams the option of competing in the spring league and/or tournament play, as well as plan summer practice sessions and fall tournament needs. This will be different than in the past, as there will not be a tryout again in the fall. Tryout dates are listed below and will be held at the North Park Ice Arena.
We plan to continue our 2017-18 successes and look forward to placing (1) High School Club Team, (1) Bantam team at the A level, (1) Peewee team at the A level, (3) Squirts teams at the AA, A, and B levels. The success of our Beginners Program will allow us to field at least 6 mite teams. If you were a part of a Blue Team this past season, you must attend these tryouts. Attendance at tryouts is mandatory for all players to have their skill levels properly evaluated for next season.
New members are always welcome, as we look to continue the success of last year, please send an email to Elyriahockey@gmail.com , to help gather information about your player prior to tryouts.
Note: For parents of beginner players, you are not to attend the tryouts. Beginner players will be placed on teams based on ability and they will not need to attend tryouts. You will be contacted through email by the middle of March to let you know what your next steps are.
Tryouts will run on Tuesday March 13th, Thursday March 15th , and Saturday March 17th . Times for these events will be communicated out soon. Please contact us at Elyriahockey@gmail.com if there are any questions.
